Now Open: New Youth Spaces at KPL!

We’re excited to announce two new youth spaces now open at the Kendallville Public Library! As part of our ongoing improvements, these areas were thoughtfully designed to better support our younger patrons by offering spaces for both focused work and quiet relaxation. Whether you’re visiting to study, unwind, or take a break, these new rooms provide welcoming options for a variety of needs.

Our new Youth Study Room offers a dedicated, quiet space for homework, studying, or small group collaboration. This room is ideal for students who need a place to focus without distractions or work together on projects. The space accommodates up to four people at a time and is available on a first come, first served basis during regular library hours.

We are also proud to introduce our Youth Sensory Room, a calming environment created for individuals who may feel overwhelmed and need a quiet place to reset. This space is especially beneficial for those with sensory sensitivities or anyone needing a moment of calm during their visit. The room is available for up to two people at a time, with 30-minute sessions (longer if no one is waiting), and is also first come, first served. For full details and guidelines, please click here:

Kendallville Library Sensory Room Guidelines.

Thank you to our READ Donors!

The last time we conducted our READ (Reading, Education and Discovery) fundraising campaign was back in 2020. Then, we began the letter to supporters with “The Kendallville Public Library is engaging with the community like never before.” Little did we know then how even more true that would be now!

Every day we strive to bring new initiatives to our community to improve the quality of life for those around us. We’re partnering with local organizations to deepen the impact we have on the people we serve. We live here, we work here, and we are doing all we can to help the area thrive.

Our donors have recognized the work we are doing, and really came through this year. So far we have received donations totalling $3,175 earmarked to a variety of programs at the Kendallville Public Library. THANK YOU!

Take a Trip to the ACD Museum!

In addition to passes to Science Central and the Botanical Conservatory, KPL has added a Family Pass to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn. This pass is good for up to 2 adults at the same address and their dependent children.

In the museum, most of the cars are drivable and many are in carefully-restored condition.  The museum has a state-of-the-art Collections Conservation Center that was completed in 2015 to support the care and preservation of this priceless collection.

Passes are first-come, first-serve.

Looking for a Notary? Look no further!

The Kendallville Public Library now has Notary Service available.

A Notary Public is an individual commissioned by the State of Indiana to serve as an impartial witness and fraud deterrent for legally significant documents such as property deeds, marriage licenses and adoption papers. Notaries defer fraud by verifying individuals’ identity and ensuring that all parties understand the contents of the documents they sign.

Schedule an appointment with Notary Michelle Herron by calling 343-2010 or emailing her at mherron@kendallvillelibrary.org. There is no cost for this service.

Michelle Herron is not an attorney licensed to practice law in Indiana. She is not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration or charge a fee for these activities.
