Latest News From Your Library

Changes to Yard Game and Museum Pass Reservations

The Kendallville Library and it's Limberlost Branch are making some changes to yard game and museum reservations - hopefully making it easier to stop in and check one out! Beginning in September, yard games will no longer be able to be reserved. They will be available on a first come, first served basis. Patrons will be limited to 5 games and can be checked out for up to seven days. Museum Passes can be placed on hold through Evergreen (just like placing a book on hold) and once a patron is notified they will have three days to come in and pick up the pass. If you have any questions, please contact the library.

New Donation Drop-Box

We’re excited to introduce our new donation-only drop box, now available for your convenience! This drop box allows you to contribute gently used books and other materials directly to our library. Please ensure that all items are in good condition, free from bugs, pest droppings, spills, mildew, and mold. This helps us maintain the quality of materials available to our community.

To streamline our collection and ensure the best resources for our library, we cannot accept items that are outdated (more than 2 years old), encyclopedias, textbooks, non-fiction books over 5 years old, Reader’s Digest condensed books, periodicals or magazines, VHS tapes, and audio cassette tapes. Your generous donations will directly support our Friends of the Library Book sales, helping to fund various library programs and services.

Thank you to our READ Donors!

The last time we conducted our READ (Reading, Education and Discovery) fundraising campaign was back in 2020. Then, we began the letter to supporters with “The Kendallville Public Library is engaging with the community like never before.” Little did we know then how even more true that would be now!

Every day we strive to bring new initiatives to our community to improve the quality of life for those around us. We’re partnering with local organizations to deepen the impact we have on the people we serve. We live here, we work here, and we are doing all we can to help the area thrive.

Our donors have recognized the work we are doing, and really came through this year. So far we have received donations totalling $3,175 earmarked to a variety of programs at the Kendallville Public Library. THANK YOU!

Take a Trip to the ACD Museum!

In addition to passes to Science Central and the Botanical Conservatory, KPL has added a Family Pass to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum in Auburn. This pass is good for up to 2 adults at the same address and their dependent children.

In the museum, most of the cars are drivable and many are in carefully-restored condition.  The museum has a state-of-the-art Collections Conservation Center that was completed in 2015 to support the care and preservation of this priceless collection.

Plan your visit at https://automobilemuseum.org/ and reserve the pass here.

Looking for a Notary? Look no further!

The Kendallville Public Library now has Notary Service available.

A Notary Public is an individual commissioned by the State of Indiana to serve as an impartial witness and fraud deterrent for legally significant documents such as property deeds, marriage licenses and adoption papers. Notaries defer fraud by verifying individuals’ identity and ensuring that all parties understand the contents of the documents they sign.

Schedule an appointment with Notary Michelle Herron by calling 343-2010 or emailing her at mherron@kendallvillelibrary.org. There is no cost for this service.

Michelle Herron is not an attorney licensed to practice law in Indiana. She is not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration or charge a fee for these activities.
